Your Photo Safari Guide

Alexander Rostocil

My love and passion for the African bush and Africa in general, drew me to become a safari guide in the early 90s. Sharing my love for the African continent and its people with visitors from overseas is what I loved doing. Exploring new places and visiting new game parks is what I loved from an early age and has become a big part of my life today. Over the years I have been lucky enough to explore and see a large part of the mother continent that I am lucky to call home today.

After all these years I have developed a fantastic Alexander Rostocil Team with specialized safari outfitters throughout the continent, all of whom are specialized in ground handling smaller specialized groups. As mentioned above it is a privilege for me to share wildlife encounters with all my guests, whether it is their first visit to Africa or their fifteenth. It is as exciting for me to do so today as it was when I first started guiding.

I look forward to meeting you soon in Africa

Experience is Key

I know that an outstanding wildlife guide must be able to do more than simply track and locate animals – that should go without saying. What makes the difference between a good safari and a great one is a complete immersion into the rhythm of the bush. The endless subtleties and mysteries of the living landscape and its wildlife, big and small. I take equal delight in the charismatic mega fauna of the Big Five and the wonders of the most seemingly ordinary of plants and grasses.

I completed my safari guide training in South Africa and spent my early years as a second guide, guiding for different safari operators in East Africa. After a number of years doing so, I decided to do my own thing. In short, I combine a wealth of experience with a deep and enduring love of guiding and hosting. As a natural ‘peoples person’, I am entertaining, engaging and always a professional host. My integrity, range of experience and work ethic ensure that every safari runs smoothly and successfully.

Over two decades later my passion for the African bush is stronger than ever. My playing grounds have extended throughout the continent. After all the years I have developed a fantastic Alexander Rostocil Team with specialized safari outfitters whom specialize in smaller exclusive safaris. Photo Safari Guide Team 2019

To organize the perfect Photography Workshop Safari in Africa, one has to identify and appoint a reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy team of safari ground handler and Africa specialists. This is usually easier said than done! Reality is – hundreds of safari operators sitting in an office claiming that they can facilitate and be your photo safari guide.

I know that it takes a lot more than just booking accommodation, flights, and vehicles. Firstly, it takes personal knowledge of the area in question. Secondly, you need fantastic like-minded partners in the different countries that we operate and thirdly the understanding of all of the little things that make a big difference to your safari being successful or not.

From the type of fillings, you want in your bean bags to the time you want to spend in the vehicles. We will tailor everything to you. Our aim is leaving you with all the time to enjoy and maximize your time in the field getting that perfect shot.

After 20 years of guiding and leading safaris throughout Africa, I have made invaluable contacts with like-minded professionals. When they say “birds of a feather flock together” it is very true in every way. Without these partners being on the same page and having the same understanding it would be almost impossible and too risky to organize such tours across Africa. Due to this reason alone, I can pride ourselves on being one of the best Photo Safari Guide company in the business. Our flexible and invaluable Team across the continent makes a difference.
